Contents: Gershwin: Rhapsody in Blue & An American in Paris
Artists: Earl Wild piano Boston Pops Orchestra Arthur Fiedler conductor
Recorded Date: 1959, 1961
Fiedler and Wild have this music in their blood, and their Rhapsody in Blue has snap, pizazz, and suavity. And it’s all there, uncut, which is more than I can say for some of the competition. After almost thirty years, these recordings still stand up musically, and sonically, they have a natural realism lacking in many present-day digital wonders.
